Umunna – Theresa May must stand up for the rights of Polish citizens living in Britain

Commenting on Theresa May’s meeting with the Polish Prime Minister, Chuka Umunna MP, Chair of Vote Leave Watch, said:

"Despite Theresa May's warm words for Polish people living in our country, she still failed to guarantee their right to remain in Britain. This is shameful.

"Polish citizens in the UK contribute to our country, pay their taxes, and work in our National Health Service. They do not deserve to be treated this way by a Government that describes them as ‘one of our main cards.’

"The Prime Minister needs to listen to the thousands of people across our country, Leavers and Remainers alike, who want her to do the decent thing and guarantee the right of EU citizens already here to stay."
